Out to Brunch: Inspirational Daytime Celebrations
Jul 11, 2017 11:45 AM Back
Afternoon soirees are becoming quite popular especially for couples who want an elegant celebration on a budget or for those (who like myself almost 14 years ago) had LOTS of guests with little ones.
And, when it comes to mid-day soirees brunch is the best marriage of breakfast and lunch to satisfy every taste.
Here are just of few of this year’s most delicious trends
1. Opt For A Relaxed Vibe: Think beachside restaurant with lounge chairs and alfresco dining; local arboretum or winery; garden party…pretty much any venue with that offers a laid back ambiance with an unmistakable WOW factor.
2. Airy Flair: Think whimsical and ethereal décor that are NOT over the top….but instead earthy and elegant.
3. Accents With “Attitude: Think dishes with a dynamic print, simply floral accents (like a fresh flower on every dish), colorful napkins or tablecloths that add a pop of color to your very colorful celebration.
4. Fun and Games: Coloring books and puzzles are not just for children anymore. Place a picture of the two of you on each plate for guests to color (while) they are waiting or consider a word find or puzzle featuring words and phrases about love and marriage.
5. Cheesy Ideas: Greet your guests with a tower of cheese (featuring various cheeses in a variety of sizes) for your cocktail hour. Make sure there’s plenty of fine wine and fresh fruit to go with it.
6. Childhood Refreshments With A Twist: From Spiked Lemonade and Arnold Palmers and everything in between think about adding an adult kick to some of your favorite childhood refreshments. You can also set up a mimosa, Bloody Mary or Screwdriver bar.
7. Mini Breakfast Munchies: Think mini breakfast favorites such as stacked mini pancakes, donuts, waffles, egg and sausage patties as appetizers. Serve up with some mini coffees, lattes or espressos.
8. Tea Time: This is an especially cute idea if you’re hosting your event at a golf club. Serve up some tea and finger sandwiches, mini scones or other oh-so-English delicacies and invite guests to tee off during cocktail hour.
